ZagatWine Review
Overall Wine Club Rating for ZagatWine
Last Updated: 5/9/2012
What to Expect from Zagat Wine Club
ZagatWine is a private-label wine club run by a larger company called Laithwaite's Wine. Laithwaite's Wine a HUGE wine club company based out of the UK. They run some of the largest wine clubs in the world including the Sunday Times Wine Club in the UK, and here in the states they run the WSJwine Wine Club, Zagat Wine Club , and 4 Seasons Wine Club. Their size gets them unprecedented access to low prices on imported wines and the focus of their clubs is an around-the-world-on-a-budget experience. To some extent, each of the wine clubs gets their own selections, but most of the wines shipped via any of these wine clubs will be the same... probably not in the same month though.
Why we recommend Zagat Wine Club
Laithwaite's Wines does a few things really well... First, they’re good at creating an experience around drinking your wine--they want to educate you and expose you to many different types of wine. Second, they deliver a lot of wine at a pretty low price. In fact they’ve set the bar for the pricing on other quarterly wine clubs that deliver a case a time. They know they have a competitive market and they offer the consumer a lot of incentives to sign up. Freebies rock! (In the business we call the Introductory Offers ... but real people call ‘em freebies.)
