In 1976, at the Judgement of Paris, an unsuspecting winery at the tip of Calistoga in Napa Valley upset the French wine world and put California wine on the map. Again, in 1976, another upstart winery in the Napa Valley beat the best French Bordeaux much to their shagrin. In fact, they insisted that these great Bordeaux's would age better and more graceful. Well, that was not to be as well in 2009, they retasted the 1975 Vintages of these great wines and Califiornia won again. The Califiornia Wine Club Series is a celebration of wine that is all California. Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, you name it, we look for wines all over the wine growing regions of the state to select the two best values we can find each month. Red wines only are the focus of this celebration.
